Anciens métiers

 

Je fais depuis quelques jours des recherches généalogiques pour un monsieur qui a des ancêtres à Amiens.

Je rencontre des métiers que je ne connais pas ou qui n'existent plus.

Voilà un acte de baptême qui date de 1763 et dans lequel le père est marchand hortillon.

Mais qu'est-ce donc qu'un hortillon? Réponse obtenue sur internet :

On appelle "hortillons" les maraîchers qui produisent fleurs, fruits et légumes dans les " hortillonnages", jardins d’Amiens conquis sur les marais. 

I love genealogy and I do genealogical research for a man who has ancestors in Amiens. In registers, I see some old business that I don't know or no longer exist.

This is an act of baptism which is from 1763 and in which the father is a "marchand Hortillon".
